Durham Microbrewery & Bottle Shop is a unit-based venue located in an industrial estate just outside the city centre of Durham.
The microbrewery incorporates a bottle shop on one unit and the main brewery site across the courtyard in a bigger unit. The bottle shop is a small venue where people can browse and buy bottles of their beer. There is also a little bar with a couple of hand-pumps, where they serve some of their beer on tap. There is also the option to sit and drink at the bottle shop.

The processes they use are completely traditional and they are constantly experimenting with new and alternate recipes. The range of beers is diverse, ranging from stouts and pale ales to IPAs and sours.
The bottle shop is located within their premises. It is a small indoor venue with tables and chairs to sit at. They have fridges and shelves stocked with their different beers (most of them are kept in bottles). The option to order drinks and have them delivered to your doorstep is also available. You can view their beers that they have in stock and order them online.
As well as being a shop, the microbrewery also has a bar with two hand-pull pumps and a draught tap where you can buy a pint to sit and drink at the shop. The bottle shop is not an official bar, and is only open during normal retail business hours.
Brewery tours run every other Saturday. During the tours, the head brewer will take you through the brewing process in their facility. At the end of the tour, you get to try some of their beer for free.
They also host an annual beer festival each summer. The festival includes food, beer and entertainment. There is a street food van with vegetarian options included. During the festival, there are extra tables in the courtyard, outside the bottle shop and outside the brewery unit. Their bottle shop bar is open and there is an extra pop-up bar inside the brewery.

Yes you can. At the moment the bottle shop is classed as a "shop" and not a "bar", however you can visit the bottle shop and sit and have a drink inside the seating area, as they have a couple of beer pumps just next to the checkout area.
