Located within Newcastle University, the Hatton Gallery Newcastle has a frequently changing programme of modern and contemporary exhibitions (including an annual showcase of art from the Fine Art students who work close to the gallery). They also have an archive and study space, as well as a small shop to purchase art related souvenirs from. There is also a space dedicated to Kurt Schwitters; his Merz Barn Wall piece has been lovingly restored/rebuilt and is now a permanent resident at the Hatton Gallery.
There are a ton of opportunities for learning at the Hatton Gallery; they have frequent family activity sessions, as well as art classes that can be booked for schools and groups (this includes a SEND session).
