Gelato Jo Jo is based in Seaton Carew. It was built late in the 18th and 19th century and was previously Cafe Royal. It is a family business run by Jo and Jason. There is both an indoor and outdoor area. The dĂ©cor of Gelato Jo Jo is inspired by that of a 1950’s American diner. In addition, they have a mixture of seating areas inside.
The walls are white and striped with a vibrant pink. The pink is the same shade as the buttons on the white leather seating. After finding a table, you must order and pay at the counter. There is a huge range of food and gelato flavours to enjoy.

Outside Gelato Jo Jo, there is a set of long and short steps leading up to the door. The steps themselves are shallow, but the pathway in-between is long. The cafe is on one level and there is a variety of seating. The lighting is good. There are booths to sit at. The disabled toilet is quite high and has grab rails. Furthermore, all staff have been trained to work with and support those with dementia and autism specifically. They do not have a braille menu, but they are able to read it to you.
