The Ripon Courthouse Museum is where you get to discover the law history of the local area, as well as the history of the Liberty of Ripon. There are three rooms; the Jury Room, the Justices’ Retiring Room and the Courtroom. The Courtoom’s walls are a beige colour, with the furnishings being a white colour. The court was made to intimidate, and so the various roles are positioned on differing floor levels throughout. Activities take place regularly at the museum.
There are no accessible toilets. There are two steps to enter the building, with a rail to hold onto. The entrance to the Jury room is narrow and may be limiting for a person in a wheelchair or those using a pram. Whilst there is no braille or large print information, staff are able to help to the best of their ability.
