Rock Antics

Rock Antics

Rock Antics is a climbing centre in Middlesbrough, with a main focus on Bouldering, which is shorter walls without ropes. However Rock Antics is not exclusive to bouldering as they do have higher roped walls for high climbers. They have many bouldering routes and 13 different high walls. To keep it interesting and not make the climbing repetitive for frequent visitors they change the routes weekly. The venue is located in a warehouse in an industrial estate, this makes it easy to access via car or bus. Furthermore it is roughly a 15 minute walk from the town centre. Rock Antics is suitable for both beginners and experienced climbers as they can offer challenging climbs that change frequently, along with having more simple and easier bouldering walls for new climbers. Additionally Rock Antics offer a smaller bouldering section for people new to bouldering with easier routes and no difficulties.

They are accept anyone from children 5+ to adults so there is no limit on who can attend. Rock Antics offer many different things such as inductions and instructor sessions to help new members become more comfortable climbing, as well as offering a junior club to help children. They also offer a variety of membership passes to get people more involved and try to build a community of committed climbers. With climbing, climbing shoes are required but at Rock Antics it shouldn’t be an issue as anybody can hire climbing shoes to use for their stay. They also offer party sessions that can be designed for all ages, usually lasting 90 minutes.
