The Spennymoor Leisure Centre is home to a range of different activities. It boasts a large wave and swimming pool complete with a water slide and water play features; open for both public swims and swimming lessons. Just outside the swimming pool is a soft play area and a small cafe serving food and drink.
Down the corridor from the swimming pool and soft play are the sports hall and gym. The former is a large airy space that hosts sessions of a variety of sports (including badminton, football and tennis), while the latter is filled with various pieces of equipment like treadmills and weights. There are also regular exercise classes held in the centre’s various studios.
Further down, the corridor empties out into a large entrance hall. The reception is located here, as well as the entrance to the Spennymoor Library and a further corridor leading to the South Durham Gymnastics Club’s facility. You can also access a multi-sensory room from here; with various pieces of sensory equipment and a hoist. Upstairs is the Spennymoor Boxing Academy.
