Streetlife Museum

Streetlife Museum is based in Hull and focuses on the history of transport from the last 200 years. The museum features an reimagined area of a 1940s high street to feel immersed in what life was like back then.

There is a wide range of galleries on display each with their own unique theme to them. Some of these galleries include:

• Bicycle gallery – Explore how the bicycle has evolved over the last two centuries and features an original 1818 Hobby Horse which is one of the first bicycles created.
• Streetscene gallery – An immersive gallery set on a reconstructed high street from the 1940s. You can step inside shops to see what it was like to run a store back then.
• Railway gallery – Showcases a reconstructed 1930s goods shed with lots of rail-related items, including the Cottingham North Signal Box.
