Opened by Peter Turnbull in 1995, Tapas Bar has been a staple of Darlington for over 30 years. This popular establishment offers both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks like beers, wines and custom made cocktails. Tapas Bar also has a large variety of Spanish and Greek food for the customers to eat. There is both an inside and outside section, making it suitable for enjoying the sun during summer and sheltering from the rain during the cold seasons. Tapas Bar is located on the Old Yard in the centre of town, meaning they are easily accessible by bus and car. After the death of the owner, Peter Turnbull, they reopened under new management, though they have not lost what made them great.

• Tapas Bar is located on the Old Yard, which was originally a sub-let house in late 1500s and early 1600s. The housing was in dire need in Darlington after the 1565 “Great Fire of Darlington” burned down 275 houses, leaving 800 of the 1200 town residents homeless.
