Background

• The Emmerdale Village Tour takes place on a purpose built film set on the Harewood Estate, which is near Leeds.
• This village set (which was built in 1998) allows fans to take guided tours of locations from the rural soap opera.
• It eventually replaced the original filming location of Esholt in 1997 due to visitor numbers making the show’s production impossible.

Things you can do

• The exclusive weekend tours give you the chance to experience the drama for yourself on a 90 minute guided tour through the village, during which you’ll explore the external sets of The Woolpack, cafe, main street and more iconic favourites. Stories and soap trivia are revealed to you along the way.

Accessibility

• As this is a walking tour, guests are recommended to be physically capable of and ready to walk around the village for approximately 90 minutes.
• Seating available at locations around the set is very limited, and so guests should ensure that they are able to keep up with the tour group.
• Some of the tour is on uneven terrain. In addition to this, any guests in wheelchairs have to be able to travel through the length of the tour. Manual wheelchair users might require a personal assistant/carer to be with them.
• Guide dogs are welcome, as well as hearing dogs and medical alert dogs. It is reccomended to contact the venue in advance to arrange this.
• Toilets are available at the start and end of your tour.
