Tullie Museum and Art Gallery has existed as a community centre since 1893. Through a variety of exhibitions of art and history, and youth groups Tullie celebrates the history of the local area and draws the community together. Tullie boasts a collection of almost 1,000,000 artefacts making it easy to find something to explore, whether it be in their Museum, Community Gallery, gardens, shop or café.
Centred in the heart of historic Carlisle, Tullie has a calm atmosphere that is accessible to the studious, and the curious minds of children. You could venture through the gardens into Old Tullie House to explore nature and the art of Cumbrian artists such as Percy Kelly. Afterwards, you could visit the work of Pre-Raphaelite women in Tullie’s Community Gallery and explore the might of the Roman Empire in the museum before having a break in their cafĂ©.
