Wordsworth House and Garden is the Georgian-era childhood home of the poet William Wordsworth. Visitors can explore the home as he would have known it through carefully replicated rooms and gardens. There are guides around who invite visitors to try homemade Georgian recipes in the kitchen, experiment with a quill and ink in the clerk’s office and even try a replica harpsicord! The garden is blooming with a variety of plants and vegetables that Wordsworth would have seen grown as a child. Furthermore, Wordsworth House and Garden also looks directly down onto the River Derwent and is set in the centre of Cockermouth, a picturesque town in the heart of the Lake District.
